Working Student: RegTech & RegAI

Are you curious about AI and how it’s reshaping regulatory change within financial institutions? Want hands-on experience judging real AI output that is leveraged in impactful client assignments? Then we are looking for you!

About ACE

At ACE, you will join a forward-looking consulting and RegTech firm in the financial heart of Amsterdam. We are specialised in regulatory change, risk & data, AI, financial & non-financial risk, and sustainable finance within the financial services sector. Together we future-proof regulatory change by combining strong human connections with innovative technology like our GenAI-enabled workbench RegAI. You will support financial institutions in their regulatory change management challenges enabled by our own AI capabilities.

At ACE, you will be part of more than just a niche consulting and RegTech firm. You will join an inclusive community where you can be yourself, learn and grow, and thrive. Our culture is built on authentic connections, mutual commitments, a shared passion for impact, and bold leadership.

Working at ACE means being part of an ambitious, dynamic, and results-driven team that also knows how to have fun. You will collaborate with colleagues from over 10 different nationalities, where every member is a trusted adviser and valued for their uniqueness. With our hybrid workplace model, you balance high performance with personal well-being.

About the Job

To further enable and refine our internal AI capabilities, we need a sharp, detail-oriented Working Student. You’ll work on an internal project to enable high-quality output produced by our AI pipeline leveraged for real client assignments. This output covers the most important regulations that financial institutions in the European financial market, and beyond, currently face (such as the AI Act, DORA, AMLR). It’s a direct way to learn how to judge AI output critically, with real stakes and real impact.

This role runs over the summer, with the possibility of extending into a more permanent position if it’s a good fit on both sides.

What will you do

Your key capabilities are:

  • QA of regulatory output: Review AI-generated regulatory requirements for accuracy, consistency, and quality against source legislation.
  • Feedback loop: Flag errors, inconsistencies, and help refine how the content pipeline generates and structures output.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with our consultants and the RegAI development team to refine the platform for client delivery.
  • Learning by doing: Build a genuine, first-hand understanding of how AI performs on complex regulatory text, and where it needs a human check.

Qualifications

We care more about your mindset than your exact field of study. You might be a good fit if you’re pursuing (or recently finished) a degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Law, Data Science, AI, or something related. We’re also open to other backgrounds if you’re analytical and curious.

  • Languages: Professional working proficiency in English required. Dutch is a plus, not a must.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, high attention to detail, and comfort working independently.
  • Mindset: Genuinely curious about AI and its role in financial regulation. Not afraid to question and double-check AI output.
  • Nice to have: Some exposure to market research, regulatory topics, or working with AI tools.

What we offer

We’re ideally looking for someone available between 24 and 40 hours per week. If your availability looks different, let’s talk. We’d rather find the right person than stick to a rigid number. We offer you:

  • A role running over the summer, with room to discuss extending it further, including the potential for a permanent position.
  • A competitive working student salary.
  • A hybrid working model, on the same terms as our regular staff.
  • Direct exposure to how AI is actually applied in financial regulation, with real client stakes.
  • A flat hierarchy, open communication, and a team that knows how to have fun, with regular get-togethers and team events included.
