At times we might feel too small to make a difference and are reluctant to even try. But even if all we can add is a small pebble, it can have a bigger effect than we imagine. Not every action will change the world, but even the smallest action will create a ripple.
When I quit law school, I started working in financial services, where I worked my way up as a pension consultant. When my children reached primary school age, I started combining my job with voluntary work. First only at the primary school, but later also at the sports club and at the local welfare organisation. There I was able to experience that a small gesture can make a big difference. I love being involved, organising things and combining different tasks. So when the opportunity arose to start at ACE as office manager, I jumped to the chance.
My goal is to make our guests and colleagues feel welcome and to unburden the consultants through proper operational support. After all, a nice working atmosphere and good support increase job satisfaction and the ‘we-feeling’ which, in turn, leads to better results.
Since I study alongside my work as an office manager, in my spare time I mainly seek relaxation and spend time with my daughters. I like to curl up on the sofa with a suspense novel or watch a movie and I love to sing and listen to music. We occasionally go to the theatre or a concert, and every now and then I go for a coffee with my friends.
