If change is something that happens to you, you will perceive it as a risk or challenge. If you are the one creating the change, you remain in control. I think it is better to be in control, especially regarding complex and uncertain challenges such as sustainability of life on this planet. We must change in order to stay in control, otherwise change takes us by surprise.

At ACE, I try to find out how to embed sustainability in financial services. Because of the enormous impact of this sector, I think sustainability can be enabled and embedded in many parts of society through financial services. Not only through regulatory compliance, but also by being the change we need to keep living on this planet in the way we want to.

Brainstorming about innovative ideas gives me a lot of energy to tackle near insolvable problems. Leaning on the creativity of people working together, solutions may come to light that nobody has ever tried and might just work. Combining people with multiple disciplines and backgrounds does not only create great working environments but can also break the paradigms that hinder us in finding solutions.

Outside of the office I like to cook and eat with friends, collect and listen to music, and play games and watch movies with friends. I also enjoy activities in nature like sailing, hiking and climbing, especially abroad.
