In a world where the only constant thing is change, sticking to mindets andmethods simply because “that’s how it’s always been done” poses a far greaterrisk than the uncertainty itself. Various fields – such as technology, politics, andlaw – are developing at an increasing pace, presenting both new challenges andopportunities for the society. By embracing innovative and open-minded thinking, we can turn these challenges into meaningful progress.
At ACE, I am excited to apply my unique, interdisciplinary academic background to practical use in the Responsible AI project. Although AI is fundamentally a technical development, its implications extend far beyond technology into numerous fields, from enhancing discriminatory biases to unlocking significant economic opportunities. By looking at the impact of AI in a broader picture, it’s true value – including untouched potential and possible threats – can be better understood and assessed. I believe that a creative, interdisciplinary approach is critical for implementing AI in a manner that is not only efficient, but also ethical and responsible.
When I am not working or studying, I like to balance my free time by staying active. I love trying new hobbies, especially sports in many different forms. Whether it is joining a new running club, waking up at 6am for a reformer pilates, or trying a new dance class, I like to challenge myself in different ways. Beyond sports, I get energy and inspiration from the people around me and I have made friends from all over the world.
